Cook Islands National Environment Service establishes partnership with University of Newcastle

Earlier last month, the Cook Islands National Environment Service formalised a new partnership with the University of Newcastle (UON), Australia, through the signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by both parties. It’s a first of its kind within NES and emphasizes a renewed focus on research and partnerships, as outlined in Goals 5 and 7 of the NES Strategic Framework 2022-2027.

“Environmental issues are becoming more & more complex, and we value the opportunity to continue expanding our in-country capabilities through partnerships with institutions such as UON” stated NES Director, Halatoa Fua.
