Regional Training on Environment Impact Assessment, Stakeholder Engagement and Social Impact Assessment in the Pacific. The training started on the 11 November and it will end on the 3 December, 2020.
This is presentation on What is SIA? was jointly delivered by Mr Meapelo Maiai with a World Bank case study delivered by World Bank Senior Social Impact Specialist Rachelle Marburg delivered on November 19 2020
It followed on from Module 3 delivered by the SPREP Environmental Planning Unit Mr Jope Davetanivalu and Dr Gregory Barbara on November 17 2020.
In addition to
Module 1 on 11th November and it focused on the “Introduction to EIA for Sustainable Development.”; and
Module 2 on “Law, Policy and Institutional Arrangements for EIA” on 12th November 2020.

There are a total of 8 training modules each covering a specific topic relating to EIA, stakeholder engagement and social impact assessment. The first three Modules were delivered by the Environmental Monitoring and Governance Programme of SPREP. The remaining five modules will be presented by World Bank specialists in SIA, Stakeholder Engagement, Community Health and Safety and other areas relevant to ESIA.
